Sprint offers three levels of DWS service to suit a variety of service level requirements:
- Direct Wavelength Service (unprotected) — provides a single circuit
- Protected DWS with Shadow Circuit — primary circuit is supplemented with a backup "shadow" circuit on the same fiber route
- Protected DWS with Diverse Circuit — primary circuit is supplemented with a backup circuit that follows a "diverse" fiber route
