PVC Classes of Service

Sprint has tailored classes of service that can meet the needs of typical business applications such as SNA and LAN. Each class of service is configured to the network response times, throughput, and availability required for these applications, making frame relay immediately productive for your business.

Sprint Frame Relay for SNA™

Sprint Frame Relay for SNA™ service is ideal for mission critical applications, such as inventory and order tracking systems. It is designed to deliver consistent response times and predictable high performance. It is also perfect for companies running 2 networks, 1 for SNA and the other for LAN interconnections. You can consolidate these networks into 1 Sprint Frame Relay network to reduce costs and simplify network management.

Sprint Frame Relay for LAN™

Sprint Frame Relay for LAN™ service is ideal for applications with "bursty" data patterns – like email and CAD/CAM – Sprint Frame Relay for LAN service is designed to provide high throughput. Your applications can capture bandwidth up to the full port speed at each site.

Voice/Multimedia Class of Service

Sprint Frame Relay for Voice service can carry voice calls in real-time, delivering voice quality connections at the cost savings of frame relay. The service is designed for voice calling, and voice and video/data applications, such as fax and analog modems on the frame relay network.

IP Express Frame Relay™

Sprint was the first carrier to provide and prioritize varying levels of IP application support over a single PVC. This new feature is called IP Express. IP Express expands Sprint Frame Relay Class of Service options beyond SNA, LAN, and Voice/Video Classes of Service. Leading edge Differentiated Services (DiffServ) technology is used to support application prioritization.

With IP Express, multiple IP applications travel over a single frame relay PVC, and you may assign up to 4 separate priority levels to IP applications to provide that your mission critical applications get the priority they deserve.
