General FAQs

Q: Why is Sprint Email Protection Services more cost effective than simply installing another server to filter my mail?

A: Sprint Email Protection Services is a solution unique to Sprint because our network was built from the ground up to provide one of the best message management solutions for businesses of all sizes. Since Sprint Email Protection Services is a network-based solution, it delivers advantages that desktop and premised-based solutions cannot offer. Companies would incur significant expenses to develop a solution that matches the functionality, network architecture, and quality of service and support provided by Sprint.

These are just a few ways Email Protection Services can benefit you. Try it to learn more.

Q: How do I begin using Sprint Email Protection Services?

A: Once you commit to a Service Agreement, a Sprint representative will take you through a product orientation, walking you through the initial set-up procedures and providing information about how to change your MX record to point to our mail network. Some service options may require additional changes. And that is it! — There is no hardware or software to install.

Q: Do you scan and filter my internal traffic (i.e., within my organization/LAN/WAN/VPN)?

A: No. Sprint only scans external email domains (i.e., email to and from the Internet). Sprint does not scan email within your actual organization.

Q: Can I try Sprint Email Protection Services on a trial basis?

A: Yes. You can access information about the trial and/or contact your Sprint account manager.

Q: Is there a minimum number of users I must I have to take advantage of this service?

A: There is no minimum number of users required to reap the benefits of this service. However, Sprint Email Protection Services is a business solution and is not designed for consumers.

Q: Do email aliases count toward my total number of users?

A: No. A user is defined as a "unique" person with a specific email address attached to a computer. Sprint refers to these unique users as "seats."

Q: Is there a minimum amount of monthly email traffic required?

A: No. Sprint Email Protection Services does not require a minimum amount of email traffic.

Q: How will I be billed?

A: You will receive a separate bill for Email Protection Services on a monthly basis.

Q: What Customer Service is provided with the service?

A: The service comes with 24/7 technical support.

Q: What sort of lag time (latency) can I expect after configuring my domain's email delivery?

A: Virtually none. Sprint will scan and filter the email in a matter of milliseconds.
