Stay plugged into network performance with Frame Relay Performance Manager

Sprint Frame Relay Performance Manager simplifies the complex tasks of managing mission-critical networks and validating SLAs — helping you easily monitor network performance.

The service is built upon a network architecture that can allow you to choose among several Sprint-approved CSU/DSU vendors depending upon their reporting needs and CPE preferences. The "frame-aware" CSU/DSUs serve as the data collection points, giving you true end-to-end performance details, including local loop access.

Sprint Frame Relay Performance Manager includes:

  • Web-based collection and reporting platform
  • Sprint-specific SLA validation reports
  • Capacity, activity, error, and latency reporting

On top of all it all, reports can be summarized in 15 minutes, hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly views, giving network managers details for activities from network troubleshooting to capacity planning.

Data collection

Analysis Service Engines (ASEs) perform statistical collection and proactive performance monitoring. The ASEs can work as either an integrated CSU/DSU reporting and checking your network seamlessly or as a passive and stand-alone option that only reports at your request. The ASEs can come as an integrated CSU/DSU or as a stand-alone probe that connects to the CSU/DSU.

Database gateway

A PAM is a Pentium PC-based database server that stores performance data in an SQL database and mediates the remote ASE at your management sites. This PAM can be owned and operated by Sprint or purchased and managed by you.

The Performance Application Client (PAC) is a console application that provides the graphic user interface. It supports multiple simultaneous users and is available on multiple platforms.
