Auto Receptionist

StarTalk FLASH can work completely on its own. Its Auto Attendant features act like a dynamic receptionist, answering your Norstar business phone promptly 24 hours a day. You can customize company greetings for after hours and holidays.

Auto Operator

Custom Call Routing features act like a super-efficient switchboard operator, using Auto Attendant to bypass the receptionist and route calls directly to the person the caller wishes to reach. You can record a list of options for callers and StarTalk FLASH will route incoming calls in response to a single-digit selection on the dial pad. Other features allow you to have calls from up to 100 designated telephone numbers automatically routed to specific points on the Custom Call Routing Trees, an extension or a mailbox, all based on Calling Line IDs.

Auto Messenger

StarTalk FLASH is also an electronic messenger that stores your messages in your very own mailbox. Each phone in your Nortel system can have a main greeting and a special occasion greeting, as well as up to three personalized greetings per mailbox, each playing in response to specific Calling Line IDs. Callers can designate their messages as normal, certified, urgent or private, and you can send all of your messages to an extension, pager or off-premise telephone.

Other Features

  • Unlike many other voicemail systems, you can still catch a call even if the caller has been routed to StarTalk FLASH. Just pick up the phone and answer it, even if your caller is leaving a message.

  • You can set up StarTalk FLASH to try reaching you at 5 different phone numbers -- even pagers -- to let you know when a caller has left a message in your mailbox.

Nortel Norstar Voicemail

The Norstar Voicemail system is like a personal assistant who answers your telephone and takes accurate messages for everyone in your company 24 hours a day, 7 days a week -- freeing up employees to concentrate on other revenue-generating work. Besides answering and managing incoming calls, Norstar Voicemail also can provide answers to commonly-asked questions via information mailboxes -- a tremendous time-saver for staff whose time is normally spent answering routine inquiries.

Norstar Voicemail can be part of your Norstar Integrated Communications System -- a combination of hardware and software components that work as one. The right integration means Norstar Voicemail can handle up to 1,000 mailboxes and a minimum storage time for greetings and messages of at least 100 hours, based on system configuration.
