Unified Messaging from Sprint

Nortel Multimedia Messaging: Manage your daily flood of messages.

You are bombarded with messages of every type, every day -- voicemail, e-mail, faxes. Thanks to unified messaging, keeping track of all these messages just got easier. Unified messaging goes far beyond basic voicemail to allow combined management of voice, fax and e-mail -- all on a single server.

Sprint offers Nortel Meridian Mail with Nortel Messenger as one of our messaging solutions. Companies of all sizes are using Nortel's Multimedia Messaging portfolio to save time, be more productive and provide better customer service. Simply open a window on your computer screen and your messages are there, neatly organized and in one simple interface.

The foundation of this product line is Meridian Mail. Meridian Mail with features such as voice-pager integration, call answering and network broadcasting -- provides a feature-rich platform on which to build additional messaging applications.

Add Messenger 3.0 to a Meridian Mail system on a local area network (LAN) and you can manage all of your messages conveniently from your desktop PC. And when you're away from your desk, Messenger 3.0 provides a Telephone User Interface for you to manage your messages remotely.

Messenger 3.0

It's as easy as checking your e-mail.

Sprint offers Messenger 3.0, a unified messaging application that gives you the tools you need to conquer information overload. Messenger 3.0 allows you to view your voicemail and fax messages the same way you view your e-mail with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes.

  • View all of your messages at once with one easy-to-use, icon-based interface.
  • Quickly prioritize each message based on who it's from, when the message was sent and the message status.
  • Reply, fax or call the senders back with the click of a button.

It's that simple. Just point and click! Listen to, compose, send or forward voice messages, and send, view or print e-mails and faxes. Personal directories provide easy addressing for outgoing messages.

Meridian Mail Interface

Messenger 3.0 makes advanced Meridian Mail features easier to use through icons and "point and click" menu selections. With Messenger 3.0, you can:

  • See a list of all new and saved voice messages.
  • Listen to messages in any order.
  • Add text headings to voice messages.
  • Mark messages as read or unread.
  • Color code messages based on priority, sent, read, private, voice, fax and more.
  • Do much, much more.

Fax Interface

Nortel's Messenger Proprietary Client offers the following fax management features from the desktop:

  • Fax Mail. Handle faxes the same way you handle Meridian Mail voice messages -- forward to other users, store faxes, or compose and send fax messages from your desktop.
  • Fax Buffering. Faxes sent to a busy or unprepared fax machine (e.g. out of paper) will continue to try to resend, eliminating the need to stand by the fax machine until the fax goes through.
  • Broadcast Fax. Save time by faxing press releases, announcements and other important documents to multiple locations on schedule, all at once.
  • Fax on Demand. Callers can access a directory of stored faxes and request the documents they want to be sent to them using the touch-tone key pad on their phones.
  • Delivery Reports. Keep track of all the faxes you send with a fax Delivery Report, which gives you printed confirmation of each transmission for your records.
