are easily accessed from your desktop PC using a single
GUI (graphical user interface), or over the phone, on
site or while traveling. Visual Messenger is an enterprise-wide
server-based solution that operates on most Windows
PCs and within most networks.

More productive message management.
With Octel Visual Messenger, you can review and
act upon messages based on the message importance, rather
than the order in which the message was received. This
streamlines the otherwise time-consuming process of
checking for messages in numerous places.
Each message type is distinguished by an icon telling
you whether it is a fax or voicemail message and identifies
the sender, time and date sent, message length and status.
By double-clicking on message icons, you can select
the specific messages you want to review. You can listen
to your messages two ways: using your phone or through
your computer speaker. Visual Messenger then rings your
desk extension and plays the selected messages. The
onscreen player controls allow you to pause, jump forward
or rewind in the message. You can then simply "point
and click" to reply, send a copy, erase or store the
message.
In addition to storing messages in the voice mailbox
archive, Visual Messenger allows you to permanently
save messages on your PC hard drive.
Streamlined fax messaging.
Visual Messenger reduces the need for using multiple
fax machines, servers and modems at your company. With
Visual Messenger, you can view fax messages on your
screen confidentially, or you may choose to print a
hard copy. Visual Messenger also allows you to send
fax documents directly from your desktop, without the
need for a fax modem or analog phone line, thus saving
you extra steps and saving you time.
Visual Messenger also supports fax forwarding and reply,
saving the expense of long distance telephone toll charges.
And its powerful outbound fax capabilities let you send
faxes directly from other Windows programs with drag-and-drop
convenience.
Facilitated mailbox administration.
The simple point-and-click interface of Visual Messenger
makes it ideal for performing basic mailbox management
functions. You may use Visual Messenger to change your
mailbox password or to record your mailbox name or greeting.
Or create, view, edit or delete personal distribution
lists onscreen.
Quick and easy call management.
Visual Messenger offers call management capabilities,
such as Private Address Book and Automated Dialing.
Just click to access the system and private address
book; Visual Messenger can auto-dial from the private
address book, message server directory or number located
in other personal information management software on
your PC.
