Value Added Services

Beyond Internet Access.

Sprint offers a full suite of value-added services designed to complement Dedicated Internet Services. Trusting Sprint with these critical business services lets you leave the management of your Internet service with Sprint experts -- allowing you to concentrate on your own business. Sprint's Value-Added Services include:

  • Electronic Mail
  • Web Hosting
  • World Wide Web and FTP Storage Services
  • Network Newsfeed
  • Domain Name Service
  • IP Security Services

Electronic Mail
E-mail has become a business necessity and is the number one application of Internet users. For each primary Domain Name Service (DNS), Sprint will maintain E-mail boxes to be assigned as you choose for your business in increments of 10 or 25. Sprint's E-mail Service is scalable to meet the needs of any sized business, is extremely reliable to assure that messages won't get lost or returned, and can be configured to include a number of options.

Web Hosting
With Sprint Web Hosting, you get the power of an Internet presence without the technical hassles of equipment ownership and support. Just put your website content on secure servers housed in Sprint data centers with high-speed connectivity to the Internet backbone.

World Wide Web and FTP Storage Services
If you wish to store data for the above services -- without investing in web servers -- you can purchase additional server space at the Sprint Data Center in 5MB increments.

Network Newsfeed
Internet News, commonly known as "USENET" or "Network News," is a worldwide message exchange system. Individuals exchange messages or articles, tagged with one or more universally recognized labels called newsgroups. USENET Newsfeeds are offered to Dedicated IP customers in two options: Full Newsfeed (requires T1 and at least 40GB hard drive) or Partial Newsfeed.

Domain Name Service
Domain Name Service (DNS) is used to map a domain name (such as www.sprint.com) to an IP Address, and to map an IP Address to a domain name. Secondary DNS provides redundancy in the event the primary DNS server is inaccessible. Sprint provides both primary and secondary DNS. Sprint offers optional Primary DNS, which means you can have your own web address or domain name (e.g., www.yourname.com), without having to maintain and administer a DNS server.

IP Security Services
Sprint offers outstanding solutions for network security that integrate superior firewall hardware and software products with a choice of management and support through Sprint or through your own internal capabilities.
